Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut

The Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut (AOASCC) is an independent non-profit organization serving older adults, individuals with disabilities and caregivers in greater New Haven and the lower Valley. Our mission is to empower adults to remain as independent and engaged as possible within their communities through advocacy, information, and services.

AOASCC provides  support to live at home. We help those looking for services and information that will help them continue to live safely at home. We will be your guide through the often confusing maze of available benefit programs, insurance options and community services.

AOASCC provides  support to those caring for their loved ones. We know caring for loved ones can be stressful. We’re here to provide support, services and information that will help your loved one continue to live safely at home. We also can offer respite breaks and classes to help you be the best caregivers you can be.

AOASCC provides  opportunities for staying active & healthy. The best way to stay healthy is to be physically active and socially involved. We provide exercise and health classes designed to help maintain an independent lifestyle as one ages. We also give you the chance to give back by sharing your time, skills, and experiences. Not only will the recipients of your time benefit, but volunteers report better health and a better outlook on life.

AOASCC provides community services. We advocate for aging and disability issues. We develop a plan on a regular basis to address how to meet the needs of older adults in south central Connecticut. Based on this plan, we partner with other non-profits to ensure our community has an array of services to support individuals' choices. A full range of services are funded including health and wellness programs, social support, and services that sustain independent living.
